Founding Therapist
Flora Markham
I offer warm, relational psychotherapy for adults in Nottingham and online.
You may be looking for therapy because life feels overwhelming, uncertain or difficult to make sense of. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, grief or trauma, or noticing painful patterns in your relationships. You may feel disconnected from yourself, unsure of who you are, or caught between how you are living and how you would like to live.
I provide a steady, compassionate space where you do not have to hold everything together or arrive with the right words. Rather than trying to fix you or reduce your experience to a set of symptoms, I will work alongside you to understand what you are feeling and what it may be communicating.
The relationship between us is central to my approach. I bring warmth, honesty, curiosity and, where it feels appropriate, humour. Together, we can explore how earlier experiences and relationships may continue to shape the way you see yourself, relate to others and respond to the world. We may also pay attention to what is happening in your body, what matters most to you, and what emerges between us in the therapy room.
My work is grounded in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and draws on person-centred, Gestalt, psychodynamic, relational and existential approaches. This allows me to respond to you as a whole person rather than using one fixed method.
